As a Founding Expert Advisor, you'll be one of the people we lean on most heavily to make sure RealityCheq's public health fact-checks are accurate, fairly framed, and that the platform’s topic coverage aligns with the concerns and misconceptions you encounter the most in your field. Your insights will directly shape what we cover, and how we cover it, within the public health domain.

What you'll do

• Review public health fact-checks in your area of expertise for accuracy — are we getting the substance right?

• Review fact-checks for framing — are we representing nuance, scientific uncertainty, and contested public health claims fairly, without either false balance or overclaiming?

• Advise on scope — flag public health topics, sub-topics, or angles that we're missing or under-covering.

• Share feedback asynchronously (via short written reviews) and, where useful, in occasional live sessions with the team.

• Ideally: Flag emerging public health misinformation trends before they go mainstream, so we can cover them and pre-empt their spread.

Who we're looking for

• Field experts, professionals, or researchers in public health (e.g. nutrition, vaccines and immunisation, mental health, women’s health, cardiovascular health, etc) with relevant credentials.

• Comfortable giving direct, specific feedback ("this claim is technically true but misleadingly framed" is exactly the kind of note we want).

• A track record of communicating clearly and accurately (e.g. on social media, in the press, etc) is a plus, but not a requirement.

• No prior fact-checking experience required; your domain expertise is the qualification.

Time commitment

Light-touch and largely asynchronous: there's no fixed weekly workload, and we'll always work around your schedule. That said, the more you're able to engage — reviewing fact-checks, weighing in on scope, flagging gaps — the better positioned we'll be to get things right before launch, so frequent engagement is genuinely valuable to us, not just a nice-to-have.

Duration

Approx. 4–6 months, covering our closed beta period.

Please note that this is currently an unpaid advisory role. We know that's a real ask; what we can offer in return is meaningful influence over the product's direction, early visibility, and public recognition if wanted. We're also actively looking into ways to reward founding advisors more substantially as the company grows, potentially including equity or shares in RealityCheq.

We're looking for people who regularly run into conflicting health claims, misleading health content, or health information they can't easily verify — and who want a better way to check it.

As a beta user, you'll be one of the people we lean on most heavily to make sure RealityCheq actually delivers value for the people it's built for:

• Wide enough topic coverage

• An overall positive, trustworthy experience using the platform

Your feedback will directly shape what we cover, how we cover it, and how the whole experience feels — helping make RealityCheq the place people turn to when they need the truth, fast.

What you'll do

• Use RealityCheq the way you naturally would, in the situations where you'd actually reach for a tool like this

• Give feedback on:

  • Usability: is it easy and intuitive to use in the moment you need it?

  • Value: does it genuinely help you, and would you keep using it after the beta?

  • Scope: are there public health topics, claim types, or formats it doesn't handle that you’d want it to?

• Share your honest first impressions and expectations, not just polished feedback. We want to know what surprised, confused, or reassured you so we can create a meaningful tool.

Who we're looking for

• Anyone who regularly encounters health-related claims they'd like to verify (e.g. in the news, on social media, in family conversations, etc)

• Willingness to share honest, specific feedback, including when something doesn't work or doesn't feel useful

• No fact-checking experience or subject-matter expertise required

Time commitment & duration

Light and flexible — use the product as it comes up naturally in your life, plus occasional short surveys or interviews. Runs approx. 4–6 months.

As an early-stage start-up, we unfortunately cannot offer compensation. Participation is about early access to the product and all its new features, as well as having a real say in how the product is shaped.

Whilst many of our testers will focus on the substance and value of the product, we want this particular cohort to focus on making sure it actually works — technically, securely, and from a usability standpoint. You'll be testing the public health version of the platform, bringing your own professional skills and expertise to systematically probe it, rather than just using it casually.

What you'll do

• Identify and report security flaws: vulnerabilities, data exposure risks, authentication issues, or anything else that could compromise the platform or its users.

• Find and report bugs: functional issues, broken flows, edge cases, cross-device/browser inconsistencies, including any specific to how public health claims and sources are fetched, displayed, or scored.

• Identify UX/UI issues: confusing flows, accessibility gaps, inconsistent design, friction points that would frustrate real users trying to verify a health claim in the moment.

• Write clear, reproducible reports (steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual behaviour, severity, screenshots/recordings where useful)

• Where relevant, suggest fixes or improvements, not just problems

Who we're looking for

• Software testers / QA professionals

• Security researchers comfortable with responsible disclosure

• UX/UI designers or researchers who can evaluate interfaces critically

• Anyone with the technical or design skills to stress-test a pre-launch product — formal job title less important than demonstrated skill

Time commitment

Flexible — dedicate time as you're able to explore the product and file reports. More structured testing sprints may be organised periodically.

Approx. 4–6 months, covering our closed beta period.
